The Houston Business Journal’s Landmark Awards recognize real estate projects that make a significant impact on Houston and help sculpt the look, feel and image of the city. We are proud that our project was not only nominated as a finalist for the HBJ’s 2021 Landmark awards but was the winner in the Retail category.
Located along the 610 West Loop at Beechnut Street, a 95,027 SF two-story H-E-B, only the third such store in Houston, was designed and then built on part of the parking lot of Meyerland Plaza. This new development included the addition of an open parking garage, which added more parking and a skybridge connecting JC Penney to HEB. This HEB store was much needed in the community after multiple floods, Hurricane Harvey being most significant, closed the neighborhood H-E-B on South Braeswood near Chimney Rock.
