Our client, NewQuest Properties, wanted to create a lifestyle center with special restaurant destinations for the locals in West Katy and the Fulshear trade area. The Architectural style is a contemporary approach to meet the needs of the patrons and the retailers while allowing easy access to pedestrian traffic in a safe environment.

With the successful Phase I complete, a 120,000 SF Kroger anchored center and an adjacent 90,000 SF Villasports athletic club, it was imperative that this hard corner became a central location for the locals to work, eat and play with a green space to serve as an amenity to promote relaxation.

Stableside is a basic U-shaped retail environment, enclosing a very intimate green space. Restaurants facing the green with open patios was a significant feature along with four large 12’ Caliper Oaks in raised tree planters for seating.  This central green location was designed keeping the neighborhood families in mind, to provide an area for them to come together as a community for day and nighttime activities.
